The 5th Annual Santa Shuffle 5K Run/Walk

World Record Attempt!!!!

 

That's right, we are going for The World Record Again (The Largest Santa Claus Run Ever)

The Current number to beat - 5,000 participants achieved in Virginia Beach, VA 

We are going for 6,000 Santa's

*Each Registered Participant will receive A 5 piece full SANTA SUIT TO wear and KEEP! To be eligible for the World Record all participants MUST wear All 5 pieces of the Santa Suit (Hat, Beard, Pants, Jacket Belt) and complete the race in the 5 piece Santa Suit to qualify as a participant in the World Record Number.

The Kansas City Santa Shuffle 5K It is the break you need in your busy holiday season. Be A Claus For A Cause give a little something back to students just by participating. This event is specifically designed to celebrate Christmas as the epicenter of giving, while also celebrating active lifestyles, helping kids while having serious fun all for a good cause. The Run/Walk will feature everyone in the family from toddlers to grandparents. Participants will have the choice to run, trot, or walk the 5K. The course is, designed to accommodate the fitness goals and levels of runners, and walkers of all ages. The course will flow through the most beautiful and historical areas in Kansas City. The Run/Walk will start behind the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum at 9:00 am, run/walk north towards the 12th St. Gates Plaza, and return. In addition to the 5 piece Santa suit, participants will receive

  • Morning refreshments
  • Custom World Record Certificate (Only given if we break the World Record) (For participants who help us qualify for the World Record) (Certificate will be mailed)
  • Swag bags
  • **Commemorative t-shirts
  • Chip timing
  • **Medals, and more...

**Only registrations before December, 1st at 5:00 pm CST will be guaranteed to receive a custom finisher Medal at the run.     

**All Registrations after December 1st at 5:00 pm CST may not receive a Santa Suit but will be guaranteed to receive a commemorative race shirt (Please note you will not be qualified for the World Record)*** 

The primary goal this year is to raise money for the Team WallStreet Foundation's Breakfast with Santa and Christmas Scholarship Fund. We will be hosting a breakfast with Santa and awarding selected graduating high school seniors a monetary scholarship to use toward college tuition, books, housing, etc...

Packet Pick Up

** Location**

Q: When and where is Packet Pick-Up?

A: This year due to the number of Santa's (6000) we are expecting, packet pickup will be held 5 different days. 

Locations: TBA 

Same day registration will be available both packet pickup days and race day morning.  Please plan to register on Race Morning between 7:30 am - 8:00 am to ensure we can accommodate everyone.

Q: Can I pick up my friend’s packet or have my friend pick up my packet?

A: Yes, you may pick up a friend’s packet during packet pick-up and vice versa, a friend can pick up your packet. You must bring an email confirmation ticket, and have a valid ID available.

Q: Is there race day packet pick-up available? What are the other packet pick-up options?

A: Yes. Race day packet pick-up WILL BE available on Monday morning from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Packet Pickup will close exactly at 8:30 a.m. so Santa says get there early and expect long lines.

PACKET PICK-UP QUESTIONS

Q: If I have a large group can you put my group’s packets together in advance?

A: Yes! This makes packet pick-up go much smoother for everyone. If you have a group of 15 or more please email us with your list of names and we will put your group’s packets all together for 1 person to easily pick them up at packet pick-up.

RACE DAY QUESTIONS

Q: What time should I arrive for the race?

A: Please arrive early and allow plenty of time to park. We will begin the Pre-Race Stretch at 8:45 am.

Q: What if the weather is bad?

A: The event will take place rain, shine, or snow. However, if the weather is threatening (lightning, storms, etc.), we will have safety weather flags and announcements for further information.

Q: Can I request a refund?

A: No, there are no refunds. In the event of bad weather, you may choose the option of a virtual race with 24 hours prior to the race

Q: Where Do I park?

A: We strongly encourage carpooling and getting to the Start early, as there may be traffic. Allow sufficient time for heavy traffic congestion and street closures due to the race.

Q: What are the Post Race Awards and when will the awards be presented?

A: Every Participant will receive a participation Medal when you cross the finish line. (Participants that sign up after November 1st, 2019 at 5:00 pm may not receive an award )

Q: Will gear check be available to participants?

A: No, gear check will not be available to participants. We strongly suggest leaving valuables in your at home.

Q: Where should I wear my timing chip?

A: We will be using the bib tag system. Your timing strip is on the back of your bib. Please wear your bib on your front chest with nothing covering it. The bib must be on the outside of all clothing, jackets, etc. to receive an accurate time.

Q: Does the Santa Shuffle benefit any charity?

A: Yes. The KC Santa Shuffle 5K benefits the Team WallStreet Foundation’s Breakfast with Santa and Christmas College Scholarship Giveaway.

COURSE QUESTIONS

Q: Is this a USATF Certified Course?

A: The 5K course is not certified.

Q: What is the course like? Is it hilly or flat? On trails or roads?

A: This course has some hills and some flat roads.

Q: Is there a course time limit?

A: Yes, all participants will need to keep around a 20 - 25-minute mile pace. The course will close completely at 12:00 p.m.

Q: Are headphones allowed on the course?

A: Yes, you may use headphones during the run. Just please be aware of your surroundings and others around you racing.

Q: Are strollers allowed?

A: Yes strollers are allowed, but you must start in one of the back corrals.

Q: Are walkers allowed?

A: Yes

Q: Are dogs allowed?

A: Yes dogs are allowed.  MUST HAVE A DOG LEASH

Q: How is the starting corral set-up?

A: There will be signs at the start that indict various mile paces. Please line up accordingly to your pace – minute per mile. Please be in your corral by 8:45 a.m. the race will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.

Q: How many aid/water stations will there be and where?

A: There will be 2 aid/water stations, 1 snack station.
