Event Description

Date, Time and Place: Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 8:00 am on Cherokee Boulevard (middle lot-1600 Cherokee Boulevard).

Course Description and Highlights: USATF Certified. Loop course on Cherokee Boulevard beginning and ending at the middle parking lot. 

Registration and Entry Fee: $25 per participant. Groups of 10 or more receive a $5 discount per participant. Registration on the day of the race increases to $30 per participant, with groups of 10 or more increasing to $25 per participant. 

Fundraisers: Join us in reaching our goal of $15,000! Become an individual fundraiser when you register to participate in the race; create or join a team fundraiser; or create a fundraising page even if you aren't participating in the race! Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place individual fundraisers, and to the top fundraising team. 

T-Shirts: Each participant will receive a long sleeve t-shirt. Please choose size when registering. Sizing cannot be guaranteed if registering after August 16.

Post Race Refreshments: Refreshments will be provided following the race with water being provided along the race course. 

Race Etiquette: Due to insurance regulations, roller blades, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course. The 5K course closes in 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Inclement Weather: Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the event, with special attention placed on the possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds, extreme temperatures and humidity. If necessary, athletes will be made aware of these conditions through email communication as well as through HOPE's social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter). HOPE's Executive Director in consultation, when available, with law enforcement, fire/EMS, other medical officers and other officials, will monitor the weather and make a decision if any action will be taken to modify the race. Possible changes include: Altering the start time, altering the course, or in extreme situations cancellation of the event. Visible lightning occurring within 30 minutes of the scheduled start will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 30 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 30-minute increments up to a maximum of 3 delays.
Race personnel reserve the right to delay, cancel, or suspend the race or modify the course due to inclement weather. As stated on registration and race pages, there are no refunds or transfers. Participants must abandon the race if ordered to do so by the race personnel, medical staff, fire/paramedics or police personnel.
