Event Description

Bethany Charles aka "Beefy" is currently battling thyroid cancer. Proceeds from this race will be given to Bethany to offset her cost and loss of income following surgery.
Bethany is a Farmington native. She has 5 brothers and sisters. She was home schooled through her junior year, however, she played soccer at Mt. Blue since her sophomore year in and then enrolled at Mt. Blue for her senior year in 2006. She went on to play soccer at UMF and earned her Bachelors degree in science, Community Health, through the University of Maine in Farmington. Bethany has worked for Allied Physical Therapy in Farmington as a rehabilitation Aide and is a waitress at Uno Mas in Farmington. "Beefy" has no medical insurance and will not be able to work for some time following surgery. She is currently a full time Physical Therapist Assistant student at Kennebec Valley Community College. She is President of the PTA Club and vice president of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honors Society. Join us to support Bethany for a 1 mile sprint and 5k road race on Saturday June 29th, 2019 at Mt. Blue High School!
