Event Description

The Center for Child and Family Advocacy’s domestic violence shelter, The House of Ruth, is thrilled to hold their first annual Fast and The Furriest 5K on October 12, 2019 at The Independence Dam State Park located in Defiance, Ohio from 9AM to 12PM. The Fast and The Furriest 5K is an event to raise awareness for domestic violence. This event is a fundraiser to help fund the Paws Project, which is a program, offered through The House of Ruth. The House of Ruth is a domestic violence shelter that provides safe housing to women and children. The House of Ruth is unable to house animals that survivors may have. Since Paws Project began, the survivor’s animals are able to be temporarily placed in care of the project. All funds raised will go directly to fund Paws Project to help cover boarding costs, veterinary care, and any other resources needed. Come enjoy a beautiful morning of running or walking through the Independence Dam State Park alongside your furry friend!

**Please bring your furry friends on a leash. You do not need to have a dog in order to participate.**

*The first 50 people to register will be entered into a drawing for a gift basket!
