Event Description
We would like to invite you to be a part of Racing for Rett 5K 2019. This event is a 5K Run/Walk & Silent Auction to support a cause we are all extremely passionate about!
Racing For Rett is a non profit 501(c)(3) organization. The organization was founded by a local Kansas City family. Racing For Rett is an 5K family run/walk and silent auction that raises money and awareness for Rett Syndrome. All funds will be distributed for research of Rett Syndrome. We are very passionate about raising funds for research to find a cure for Rett Syndrome and raising awareness for this debilitating disorder.
What is Rett Syndrome?
- Serious lifelong neurological disorder caused by random mutations in a gene (MECP2)
- Babies develop "normal" but begin to lose acquired skills between the ages of 1-3 years old
- Leading genetic cause of severe impairment - most cannot speak, walk or use their hands
- Many suffer from seizures, breathing problems, anxiety, feeding tubes, GI and orthopedic issues
- As prevalent as Cystic Fibrosis, ALS and Huntington's
- Rett Syndrome is a potentially REVERSIBLE disorder!
Our family is proud to host Racing for Rett on October 12, 2019 at the Harrisonville City Park in Harrisonville, MO.
The 5K Run/Walk and silent auction will begin at 9 am on Saturday, October 12, 2019. Packet Pick-Up will occur Friday, October 11.
We will present awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the Mens/Womens/12&under categories.
The silent auction will begin prior to the race and the winners will be announced shortly after the presentation of awards.

- children 4 & under - FREE (does not include shirt)
- Ages 5-12 - $15 (includes shirt)
- Ages 13 & up - $30 (includes shirt)
Registrations on September 29, 2019 or AFTER
- children 4 & under - FREE (does not include shirt)
- Ages 5-12 - $20 (includes shirt but it is NOT GUARANTEED BY RACE DAY)
- Ages 13 & up - $35 (includes shirt but it is NOT GUARANTEED BY RACE DAY)
