Event Description

This year is the 13th year that runners and walkers will have the unique opportunity to run on one of the countries' busiest airport runways.  It is an amazing experience to run and see planes queuing up and taking off.  This race offers a flat and fast course.  It is an experience that the whole family will enjoy! You must register as a runner to participate. Spectators are required to register.  Children in strollers are considered spectators and MUST register. The race will be limited to 1500 participants. 

This is the first year proceeds will help fund an Airport Opportunity Scholarship with Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) created to promote careers in aviation, as well as economic opportunities in Charlotte. The Airport scholarship will benefit students who are graduates of high schools in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School (CMS) district and are Title 1 eligible. Each recipient will attend CPCC’s Summer Bridge academic enrichment program and enroll in a two-year, career-focused degree program specific to the Aviation Department

THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY REGISTRATIONS. NO EXCEPTIONS.
