Event Description
Pancreatic Cancer has the lowest survival rate of the major cancers and 3RD LEADING CAUSE OF CANCER-RELATED DEATH in the United States. In 2018 it was estimated 56,770 people (29,940 men and 26,830 women) will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Of that, 45,750 (23,800 men and 21,950 women ) will die from pancreatic cancer. PANCAN.ORG has WAGED HOPE on pancreatic cancer by vowing to DOUBLE SURVIVAL BY 2020.
Please help us WAGE HOPE at our 6th Annual ONE DAY PANCREATIC CANCER Run/Walk.
This year's event will consist of a 8K, 2 Mile Run/Walk, and Kid Fun Run option. Please join us at Silver Oak Golf Course as our SEA of PURPLE weave their way through the Silver Oak's neighborhood, up to Carson Tahoe Hospital and back.
Placement awards will be given to the top finishers in each running age group.
All participants will receive a Finisher's Medal.
75% of the proceeds will be donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN.ORG) and 25% to benefit the Carson City Kiwanis scholarship fund.
