Event Description
This is your year to run and experience Brooklyn like never before at the only half marathon and 5K exclusively held on the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway. It’s the Ultimate Urban Tour of the Brooklyn Waterfront!. In a route that journeys along the Brooklyn Greenway from Red Hook to Greenpoint and back, participants in the half marathon (13.1 miles) may be distracted by skyline views, historical bridges and a dash through the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The 5K run and walk (3.1 miles) is equally scenic, with a route through Brooklyn Bridge Park.
The Brooklyn Greenway Half & 5K attracts runners from Brooklyn and around the world. Participants this year will be able to end the race with an awards ceremony and refreshments at the start and finish point of the race on Columbia Street between Kane and Degraw streets.
By participating in The Brooklyn Greenway Half & 5K, you will be supporting Brooklyn Greenway Initiative, the non profit organization committed to the development, establishment and long term stewardship of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway.
