Event Description
The 5K Race/Walk & Fun Run will be held in conjunction with the 4th Annual LaRae Harvest Festival and Dixonville 200 Bicentennial Festival. The race/walk will take place at the LaRae Barn Venue alongside a beautiful cotton field in the community of Dixonville, 9 miles south of Brewton, Alabama on Hwy 41. Directions from Florida: From Hwy. 87 in Milton, go north to the state line and follow Hwy 41 for one mile. The LaRae Barn Venue is on the right. Follow the race signs. Coming from Jay on Hwy 4, turn left on Hwy 87 and go north for X miles until you cross the state line into Alabama. Follow signs. The Race start and finish is an out-and-back on a flat red dirt road adjacent to a beautiful cotton field with half of the course utilizing a secluded blacktop highway. Expect to run/walk on both surfaces. Directions to the race and a course map will be made available at packet pick-up.
The Course: Packed dirt with some small areas of minimal sand and highway blacktop. Restrooms will be available near the start/finish area. Water/Aide stations will be available.
Packet Pick-up: Wednesday, October 30, April 12th, 2019 from 4:00 – 6:30pm at LaRae Barn Venue in the Dixonville Community, 464 Hwy 41. South, Brewton, AL 36426. You may also pick up your packet on the Race Site on Race Day. Early registration ends on October 26, postmarked or online. You may also register for early registration at packet pick-up. Day of race registration will be $25.00.
Awards: Overall Awards in 10 categories and Top 3 in the following Age Groups: 10 an under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and up.
Unique, Rustic, Cotton themed awards to the winners. ALL ½ mile runners will receive an participation award, and top 1/2 milers in each age group will receive a cotton trophy!
