It is that time of year again where Strive friends, family, and supporters stretch their somewhat forgotten muscles, dust off their creaky bones, and participate in our Virtual 5K!
It's that time of year again! Strive's 5th Annual V5K is celebrating it’s 5th ANNIVERSARY and you won’t want to miss it!! This annual tradition is an opportunity to challenge yourself to complete a 5K during the final days of October while also helping us to raise critical funds for our programs!
Our 5th Annual Strive V5K will take place Friday 10/30-Monday 11/5. It is hard to believe it has already been 5 years since our inaugural of our Virtual 5K! Back when we started this event, nobody knew what a Virtual 5K was, and now every race across the country is shifting to a virtual format. It has been an incredible journey these past 4 years, and we hope to make our 5th iteration our best yet.
Last year, participants joined from 27 states, 6 countries and 4 continents! 5Ks were run, swam, biked, hiked, walked, rowed and even crawled. We invite you to join us again this year as we seek to expand the event to over 300 V5K participants around the world.
Where can I participate and how? Anytime, any way, anywhere. No travel, no early starts, no jostling at the starting line. We also use the term "run" loosely. You can walk, bike, swim, hike, skip, you name it... it counts to complete this race! We encourage you to get creative! How will you Strive?
Who can participate? You! Your friends. Your family. Even your pets (we would like to increase our official pet sign-ups from 2 last year to 5 this year!!!). You can sign up individually or get together a group of friends and sign up as a team.
How will my completion be celebrated? NEW THIS YEAR all participants will receive an exclusive Strive V5K fanny pack upon completion - one size fits all! Additionally, endless social media attention and personal bragging glory to your social circle will be bestowed upon you. Strap up with your very own Strive V5K fanny pack. The ultimate in both fashion in function we are celebrating 5 years of V5K with our best participation gift EVER. Why run (and raise funds) to support Strive? Strive is a non-profit organization dedicated to character-driven leadership development. Through a robust scholarship program, Strive leads the way in developing character leaders in underserved communities. With a focus on high school and collegiate athletes and their coaches, Strive sharpens teams’ power and impact through teaching winning leadership and culture-building strategies that extend into life.
Strive offers a research-based, customizable curriculum that begins with self-knowledge, moves into culture creation, and ultimately instills the habit of rigorous leadership practice in its program participants. Strive is based in Wilmington, DE, and serves schools and communities across the U.S.
