Event Description
This Star Wars themed event takes place Saturday through Monday (rain or shine) starting at 4am on Saturday October 5th at 11537 North Ride Circle East in Mandarin. Please join local Storm Trooper/Ultra Marathoner, Marc Burget as he runs the Trench of the Death Star, 312 miles through his mandarin neighborhood to stomp out breast cancer. Marc invites you to come out and join the fight! Runners, walkers and pod racers welcome.
Why are we holding this event? Why is Marc challenging himself to run 312 miles?
As a family affected by breast cancer we are passionate about supporting survivors and raising awareness for patients going through treatment. We were lucky enough to have received support from friends, family and the Donna Foundation, many are not as fortunate.
The Donna Foundation directly supports survivors in partnership with PAF Patient Advocate Foundation to get survivors the help they need. Every dollar raised The Donna Foundation and PAF turn your dollar into five.
The Donna Foundation also directly donates funds to research conducted at the Mayo Clinic. Strides are being made everyday to end this terrible disease.
We at Hope Floats believe by finding the cure for 1 cancer will lead to a cure for other types of cancer. We want to do our part! Founded by Breast Cancer Survivors, Rectal Cancer Survivor, our friends and family, we ask for your support.
