Event Description

Welcome to the inaugural Road to a Cure 5k Fun Run/Walk! We are very excited to be hosting this event in support of Team Duffy, a community fundraising team with Team in Training! 100% of the proceeds will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma society to fund life saving treatments, resources and one day a cure! Team Duffy was started this year in memory of Robert Duffy. January 8, 2020 will mark the 40th anniversary of Robert crossing the finish line of his battle with Lymphoma, forever impacting the Duffy family. The Duffy's know that this is a loss that too many of us know and understand, which is why they along with friends and family from across the country have dedicated themselves to raising $100,000 this year. This $100,000 will help secure research grants in memory of Robert which will allow doctors, scientists and researchers to develop breakthrough therapies and some day a cure for all cancers.

You can choose whether to participate in our live event in Venice, CA or choose to run on your own as part of our virtual event.

Live 5K Fun Run/Walk

If you are in SoCal and available, please join us Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the Venice Fishing Pier in Venice, California as we raise funds to help rid this world of cancer.  This is a super casual and super fun event.  There are no timing chips but there are some awesome medals. Feel free to push yourself.  Be as competitive as you want.  Be as un-competitive as you want.  This is about a group of people getting together to hit the streets of Venice knowing we made a difference Just a reminder, 100% of the proceeds will go to charity. 

Virtual Race

If you do not live in SoCal or simply cannot join us for our live event, please sign up for our virtual race and join the Road to a Cure with us.  Price includes a bib, medal, and allows you to run/walk whatever distance you want, whenever you want.  Run/walk a mile or complete an ultra-marathon or anything in between. Choose your own adventure! Simply Put "-Virtual" (Example: Last Name: Smith-Virtual) in the Last Name box in registration and be sure include your address, and your medal will be sent out Monday, October 21, 2019!
