Event Description

Race to the finish for a steaming cup of hot cocoa! Join the JCC and LifeBridge Health for the Chanukah Hot Chocolate 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run. A favorite among local runners thanks to the welcoming atmosphere, scenic course and community partnerships. Starting on the JCC’s Owings Mills campus and winding through the local community, the Chanukah Hot Chocolate 5K boasts a scenic and mostly flat course, perfect for participants of all ages and abilities. Come experience what past runners have called their “favorite way to start their Chanukah celebrations.”

All proceeds benefit financial assistance for JCC children, teens and families. On an annual basis, the JCC provides over $600,000 in need-based scholarships to ensure that no one is turned away because of the inability to pay.

• 1-mile fun run to be held outdoors on its own course. 
• Themed race SWAG available to the first 250 registrants
• Light breakfast, and after party to follow race.

1 Mile Fun Run:

($25 day of race)

*Children 5 and under free – 1-mile fun run only*  
*Children 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult and everyone participating must be registered, including each child*
*Children 5 and under who register for free will not receive race swag*

Packet Pickup at the Owings Mills JCC:

Pre-Race Day Packet Pick up time and date to be announced

Race Day- Sunday, December 8th beginning at 7:30am

Race Day Schedule:

7:30am- Check-in and registration opens (onsite registration accepted until 8:30am)
8:45am- Warm-up led by JCC trainers
9:00am- 5k Race begins!
9:10am- 1-mile fun run begins
**Awards and Post Race Party immediately to follow (inside).  All immediate family members of participants welcome.

Prizes:
A prize will be awarded for overall male and female winner and medals will be awarded to top male and female finishers in each age category (age groups: under 13, 13-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+).

Weather Contingency Plan:

We will post updates on our JCC website and JCC Facebook page if there is a forecast for bad winter weather that will affect our plans for the day. PLEASE NOTE: No refunds will be given if this event is cancelled due to weather.
