Event Description
Join us for the 1st annual Strides for Adam on March 22, 2020 - This date is especially important to us as it's Adam's birthday. He would be turning 18. This is a family friendly event, all ages and abilities are welcome. There is a 1 mile walk and a 5k run/walk. The event will take place at Young Patriots Park. Strides for Adam is a non-profit, created to keep the memory and giving spirit of Adam alive. Proceeds from this event will be used for service projects, for college scholarships, to help support local athletes. The race/ walk is designed to increase awareness of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.
If you are unable to join us for this special inaugural event there is a virtual run as well! Details below.

Course: The selection of the course start and finish is meaningful as Young Patriots Park was one of Adam’s favorite places. The course is set to go through Pheasant Run as that is the sub where Adam used to run on training runs for Cross Country and Track and also where he first started to run.
The 1 mile walk is 3 times around the Reflection Pond, inside Young Patriots Park.
The 5K course is for runners as well as walkers. The 5K course starts and finishes in Young Patriots Park. The course is flat and fast!

Awards: Trophy for 1st place overall, plaques for 2nd and 3rd place overall (male and female). Special medals are given to the winner of each age group and medals for 2nd and 3rd place in each age group. Age groups male and female - 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be posted during the race and online at Playmakers.com.
