Event Description

In honor of Dr. Frank Cox, Pastor of North Metro Baptist Church and long time supporter of Collins Hill Athletics, Collins Hill High School will be hosting a 5k run to raise money for the athletics program. Dr. Cox has been a part of this community since 1980 and a founding supporter of the school and all the athletic programs. The Collins Hill Athletics Program is vital to Collins Hill High School and its surrounding community. According to the National Federation of State High School Association, high school sports "instill a sense of pride in school and community, teach lifelong lessons and skills of teamwork and self-discipline and facilitate the physical and emotional development of the nation’s youth". Over the past 26 years, 28,000 athletes have come through Collins Hill and benefited from being a part of a sport. Financially, school athletic programs assist in supporting the various athletics programs, maintaining and updating facilities, paying for programs' officials and transportation, and much more. The NFHS goes as far as to say that "high school activity programs are one of today’s best bargains...From a cost standpoint, activity programs are an exceptional bargain when matched against the overall school district’s education budget". Collins Hill Athletics would not only appreciate your financial support in this 5K race, but look forward to coming together as a community for a great cause.

Prizes will be awarded for Overall Winner (Male & Female), Overall Masters (Male & Female), Top 3 in Each Age Division: Under 11,11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60+
