The Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club, in conjunction with Point B Realty and the Harbor View Hotel announced today that the group is introducing the Teddy Bear Trot, Holiday Fun Run 5K.
In line with the festive nature of the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite, where holiday memories are made, the Teddy Bear Trot will provide a family friendly activity that promotes fun and health.
The Teddy Bear Trot, Holiday Fun Run will begin at the Harbor View Hotel, with the stunning Edgartown Lighthouse as a the backdrop, will continue through town, out to Katama General Store and back through town, ending at the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite (Fuller Street parking lot of the Harbor View Hotel).
Participants of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate, and dress as festive as possible. Dogs and strollers are welcomed.
Entrance fee is $10.00, with the all proceeds going to the Club’s After-School Program, which is the focus of the annual Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite fundraiser. The month-long fundraiser has set a goal of $15,000 this year. Organizers report that the drive has already passed the two-thirds mark in the fundraising campaign. The Teddy Bear Trot – Holiday Fun Run 5K will be held on Sunday, December 20th. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with a start time of 9:30 a.m.
Awards will be given for a variety of categories, including speed and best dressed.
This event is sure to become a holiday tradition on Martha’s Vineyard .
