Event Description
The members of Alpha Phi Omega at Gettysburg College are holding their 6th annual Anything is PAULssible 5K Run/Walk. Proceeds from this race go toward the Paul Detweiler Memorial Scholarship Foundation (given to an incoming Gettysburg student who exemplifies the same values Paul displayed in his lifetime) and toward putting on this race every year.
Instead of the traditional run, this year we will be hosting a Fun Run. We will be running in the spirit of Paul rather than for competition. Although we will not have an official timer (bibs with individual trackers), we will still have a timer at the Finish line so that individuals can keep track of their times. There will be two options for running:
You can register to run the 5K with us at Gettysburg College on April 19th
OR
You can register as a Virtual Runner if you cannot be at Gettysburg College on April 19th
The virtual run provides participants the ability to participate in the Anything is PAULssible 5K no matter what location they are in. Participants simply pledge to complete the physical requirement of 3.1 miles (a 5K) in whatever location they may be in around the world. The run can be completed at your own discretion (at an official race or on your own time). Most participants who are running the race in their own location decide to complete the race on the same day as the 5K.
About Paul:
This event has been created in loving memory of Paul Detweiler. Paul was a student at Gettysburg College and an active member of Alpha Phi Omega who passed away in 2013 after a yearlong battle with a brain tumor. His dream during his time in Alpha Phi Omega was to put on a 5K fundraiser for charity and although this wasn’t possible during his lifetime, we continue to honor his dream and legacy through the Anything is Paulssible 5K.

The race at Gettysburg College will begin at 9:30am at the cross-country field (located behind the baseball and lacrosse fields).

Registration opens at 9:00am in the Attic, in West Building behind the Jaeger center.
Parking areas will be marked the day of the race.
The Race begins at 9:30am on the cross country course.
The course will be open until 11:30am for runners or walkers.
Before and after the race there will be oppurtunities to purchase shirts, tickets for raffles, and enjoy refreshments.
