Event Description

Start Times:

The one-mile fun run will start at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K will start at 9:15 a.m. in front of the library on Main Street. We encourage everyone to bring your dogs for this run to benefit rescue pets. If you plan on running with your dog, you are responsible for ensuring they are fit enough to run and have trained appropriately to run alongside you. Our 5K is one of the final Peachtree Qualifiers before the Peachtree Road Race, and our race is chip-timed by Race Works.

Race Goodies:

All competitors who register early will receive an official Run for the Rescues T-Shirt and a runner's bag. We will be able to provide T-Shirts to late registrations and day of registrations while supplies last, .

There will be trophies and prizes awarded to the top finishers for both men and women overall/masters and for specific age groups. Awards will be given to the top 3 dogs crossing the finish line in the 5K.

Packet Pick-Up:

Participants who register prior to 5 p.m. on March 19 can pick up their race number in advance at the Suwanee location of Big Peach Running Co. or on race day. Participants who register after 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, will only be able to pick up their race number on race day. Please note that race numbers will not be mailed.

Fun Run

The fun run will start at 8:30 a.m. next to the library on Main Street. The course is one mile, and participants will receive a participant medal, T-Shirt, and runners bag. 

5K

The 5K will start at 9:15 a.m. in front of the library on Main Street. Participants will receive a T-Shirt and runners bag. 

Registration Fees

$25 - 5K
$30 - 5K after March 6, 2020
$15 - Fun Run
$20 - Fun Run after March 6, 2020

Participation Rules

For your dog’s safety, and to make this event enjoyable for all, participants must abide by the rules listed below. We encourage the participation of dogs that are accustomed to regular exercise and are well adjusted to crowds and noisy environments with large numbers of people and other dogs.

1. Dog must be current on all shots and rabies vaccination.
2. Dog must wear an ID tag.
3. No dogs in heat and no aggressive dogs.
4. Dog must be leashed on a 6 feet or shorter leash and always under control of their handler. Retractable leashes are not allowed.
5. You must pick up after your dog. Disposable bags and water will be provided
6. Children must be at least 13 years old to participate with a dog without adult supervision.
