Event details and schedule

The VBC Century ride is a 50 and 100 mile bike ride sponsored by the Adirondack Garda Cycling Club (www.adkgarda.org), with a 75 mile (Three Quarter Pint)noption as well. All of the monies raised will go directly to the Tour De Force, which is a charity that supports the families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. For more information on the Tour De Force please visit www.tourdeforceny.com

The full and half pint routes will take each rider along the shores of historic Lake Champlain and into the Adirondack Park. At the 12 mile point and after 2 challenging hill climbs, you will be rewarded with a picturesque view of Ausable Chasm, and a water stop. We encourage all of you to stop, and take a few moments to enjoy what Mother Nature has created over the last 500 million years. From here the journey continues through part of the Adirondack Park, and back to the City of Plattsburgh where lunch will be served at the Valcour Brewing Company. After a short lunch the full pint riders will continue north along Route 9, this is where the Three Quarter Pint option begins.  The Three Quarter Pint riders will detour towards Lake Champlain while the full pint riders will continue to the Village of Rouses Point along the U.S./Canadian Border. The last leg of the journey will bring each rider back along the historic shores of Lake Champlain, where at the final reststop (The Happy Pike Restaurant) each rider will receive a free ice cream cone.

This year back by popular demand for dinner is PULLED PORK! and of course the FREE beer coupons.

On the 12th of July there will be an additional free unsupported metric century ride for those riders wishing to take in more of the beautiful scenery. Currently the plan is to travel around the northern part of Lake Champlain to Vermont and return to New York via a ferry.  In the past the VBC Ride picked up the ferry cost, due to the large amount of riders who opt for the second day ride (Last year we had over 40 riders) we are unable to continue this.  The ferry cost is $5 - $7.

Over the last 6 years the VBC Century Ride has grown in popularity, and we look forward to seeing friends we have made and making new friends! In order to be albe to provide each rider with a quality riding experience the field has been limited to 150 riders this year. Make sure you do not miss out and register early.
