Event Description

New to Mighty Mujer Triathlon?  Ready to take your training to the next level?  Mighty Mujer Training Camp is for you!

This 3-day training camp will include swim, bike, run workouts, transition practice, yoga for triathletes, information and tools geared specifically to helping you prepare for Mighty Mujer Triathlon, and more.  Campers will come together for a limited number of all-camper sessions and primarily work with experienced USA Triathlon Certified triathlon coaches in small groups. 

Mighty Mujer Training Camp is geared toward beginner and intermediate triathletes. First-timers welcome!

Tentative Schedule
Friday, February 28 (6-8pm) - ORIENTATION 
Saturday, February 29 (8am-6pm) - TRAINING CAMP
Sunday, March 1 (8am-3pm) - TRAINING CAMP

There will be NO Refunds or Transfers for this camp. No exceptions.

Mighty Mujer Training Camp registrants also will receive exclusive Mighty Mujer Training Camp gear and other Mighty Mujer goodies!  Registrants will receive an additional questionnaire and information on what to bring once registration is completed. 

About the Coaches
Pam Kallio has competed for 20 years on both the international and national stages, having completed 22 full IRONMAN races and numerous other IRONMAN 70.3, Olympic, sprint, road, mountain bike and running races.  She is a 2-time Kona qualifier finishing back to back years in 2014 and 2015, along with qualifying numerous times for IRONMAN 70.3 worlds, including 2019 in Nice, France. Pam has coached for close to 20 years and has helped athletes of all ages and all levels reach their goals.  She brings a holistic approach to training, adding in recovery, nutrition and “SISU” mental toughness to her coaching methods. She has worked in the triathlon industry for 15 years and has a rounded background in the triathlon arena. She has worked full time and knows the challenges in balancing training, life, family, school and work.  Pam is married to Norm Kallio and has 4 grandchildren, 3 dogs and 2 cats (all rescues). She has her own coaching company and also coaches as part of Braveheart Coaching with Dr. Simon Marshall and 5-time world champion Leslie Paterson, authors of “The Brave Athlete.” She is currently taking a course in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to further apply the mental side of the game to her coaching. Bobby Gonzales is a lifelong El Pasoan who has been racing triathlon since 1989. He has competed at the national and international levels in triathlon and duathlon. Some of Bobby's accomplishments include being a three-time Texas State Triathlon Champion (1991, 1993, 2005) and Duathlon Champion (1991, 1999), National Duathlon Champion (1998), and "Best of the US" Top Texas Male Triathlete in 2005. He made eight World Duathlon and ten World Triathlon appearances as a member of Team USA. Bobby was the team captain for the 1994 USA Duathlon Team that competed in Hobart, Tasmania (Australia). Over his career to date, he has received numerous All American Honors, currently ranked number One in Texas for 55-59 Age Group, and has been the Southwest Challenge Series Elite Champion numerous times since 1994.  In 2011, he placed 5th in the 50-54 age group at the World Duathlon Championships in Gijón, Spain, was the 2012 and 2014 National Sprint Triathlon Champion in the 50-54 age group and was Runner Up in 2013 and 2015.  He placed 8th (50-54 age group) at the 2015 World Sprint Triathlon World Championship. Bobby is the 2019 USA Triathlon Draft Legal National Champion (55-59 Male) and is a 3-time IRONMAN Hawaii finisher.
 
In recent years, he has focused his attention on providing inspiration to the youth of El Paso by giving presentations on the dangers of drug use, mentors other athletes as they embark on their own athletic careers and is a USA Level I Certified Triathlon Coach. Bobby was inducted into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007. 

Travel.  Transportation and lodging to Mighty Mujer Training Camp are not included.  If you are traveling to El Paso, a small block of rooms is reserved at Best Western Sunland Park Inn for $75.99 a night (2 miles from Camp venue).  Ask for Astrid when you call to make your reservation @ 915-587-4900.
