Event Description

Pocono Half Marathon & Fall Running Spectacular!

Dates: Saturday, October 24th, 2020 (1/2, 5k) & Sunday, October 25th, 2020  (Pocono 1/2 Marathon) or run the Pocono Challenge and participate BOTH days!

Saturday:
Promised Land State Park  1/2 Marathon and 5k
100 Lower Lake Rd, Greentown, PA 18426   
1/2 will start at 8:00AM
5k will start at 8:10AM 

Parking:
Promised Land State Park. There is a huge parking area near the Start/Finish line located at the Upper Lake main beach area off  of Route 309.

Courses: 
Terrain will be the paved park roads and be extremely scenic with the splendor of fall foliage in full blast! 

Half Marathon-will follow North Shore Road around the lake. 
5k--will will follow the 1/2 Marathon route then turn right around Ridgefield Point in a lollipop and back.  

Sunday: 
Pocono Half Marathon

Course: 
Terrain will be on paved roads making a fast course with an overall negative elevation drop.
1/2 Marathon will be a point to point race starting on Flat Ridge Rd, turning onto Bushkill Falls Road and finishing at the Bushkill Inn & Conference Center.  

Parking:
Participants will be shuttled to the start line from The Bushkill Inn & The HS

Run Pocono Challenges: 
Challenge 1:
5k Saturday and Half Sunday 

Challenge 2:
Half Saturday & Half Sunday

 

Shuttles: Will transport Runners to the starting line from the designated Parking Areas.  They will also be running continuously at the finish area during the duration of the event

 Bib Pickup & Registration: 
Saturday races--registration/bib pickup will open at 6:30AM at the start/finish line. 
Sunday races--
Pickup at Saturday's registration/bib pickup  at 6:30AM at the start/finishl line of Promised Land races
Saturday 3-5pm at The Bushkill Inn
Finish line starting at 6:30 am on Sunday morning
                                                                                                                         

Aid Stations: There will be stations w/first aid, water and Gatorade apprximately every two miles of both 1/2 Marathon courses. (Some may even have a few treats!!) We will also have Paramedics and Porta Pots on the courses. 


FEES:  5k-  $30 until April 1st  $35 until August 1st,  $40 until Race Day   1/2 Marathon (Either Day)- $65 until April 1st,  $75 June 1st, $80 August 1st, $85 until Race Day   Pocono Run Challenge(5k/Half)- $80 until April 1st, $90 until June 1st, $100 until August 1st, $110 until Race Day   Pocono Run Challenge (Half/Half)- $105 until April 1st, $120 until June 1st, $130 until August 1st, $140 Until Race Day


Awards:   "VERY UNIQUE race themed awards" Top 3 Male & Female to go with top masters Male & Female (40+.) There will also be age group awards for both male and female runners.

Team Awards:  Awards to the top 3 teams with the most participants and top 3 fastest!! 

Age Groups:  (Both 1/2's  & 5K) -19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

T-Shirts:  Amazing race themed Short sleeve tech shirt!!

Finisher’s Medals:  Unique Medals pertaining to the Poconos will be awarded to all Participants in both the 1/2 marathons and 5k!!   We will also have an additional Medal for those running the RUN Pocono Race Challenge!!

Time Limit: 1/2 marathons-  4 1/2 Hours

Finish Line/After Party: There will be a live DJ/Entertainer at the start/finish area during the duration of the races!! 

Poconos/Bushkill/Promiseland: The "Niagara of Pennsylvania," Bushkill Falls is among the Keystone State's most famous scenic attractions. This unique series of eight waterfalls, nestled deep in the wooded Pocono Mountains, is accessible through an excellent network of hiking trails and bridges which afford fabulous views of the falls and the surrounding forest. Promised Land State Park is on the Pocono Plateau.  The park consist primarily of beech, oak, maple, and hemlock trees. Two lakes and several small streams add to the park’s outstanding scenic beauty.  Fall time is the best time to visit the Poconos!! The Lush Forests will be in full glory with all the vibrant colors of their fall leaves!! 

PA Wilds Series:  Four Destination Races all located in the PA Wilds!!  Races will  Consist of  the "Great Allegheny" Ohiopyle April 18th, 19th, Run for the Elk August 8th, 9th, Conquer the Canyon July 25th & 26th   Pocono Fall Run Fest October 25th and 26th 2020   Participants that run ALL 4 will receive a SPECIAL Medal at the end of the year!!
