Event Description
Dear Imagine Families,
We are so excited to announce the commencement of our 2nd annual Run for Your Heart Jog-a-Thon! This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to exercise their heart muscles while earning money for our school. We have worked really hard to make this a fun and exciting event that will help our school earn the funds to purchase additional equipment to promote movement initiatives!
The event will take place on Friday, March 23rd from 8:15 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. on the Upper Campus field. Attached to this letter you will find a permission slip that we will need in order to transport your child between the campuses. Please fill it out and return the permission slip to your child’s homeroom teacher as soon as possible. Your child won’t want to miss out on the opportunity to win awesome prizes!
Your child is also coming home with their donation collection envelope. You will notice that we are not taking pledges per lap, but rather, to make it easier on everyone, we are asking students to get sponsor donations at a flat rate for running in the event. This way, students don’t have to return to sponsors in order to collect money. In addition to raising money to help our school purchase cool materials, every student who participates with even a $1 donation will win prizes!
On the envelope, you will also see the list of prize levels. You will notice that the lowest level needed to win a prize is just $1 and that participation counts! Prizes will be given for top earners and the students at each grade level that run the most laps! Imagine how excited they would be if they got to be Principal for the day or even Mr. Fred for a day! Those experiences are ones that children never forget!
This year you have the opportunity to purchase Hydration Motivation for your Resilient Runner. The forms for this are also in the attached packet. For just $1 you can write your runner a motivational message and we will attach it to a small Gatorade bottle and deliver it to them that day.
Students have until the day of the Jog-a-Thon, March 6th, to collect donations. We will collect the envelopes when students come to run! We will issue prizes once donations and lap data have been collected and counted. Permission slips need to be returned ASAP to your child’s homeroom teacher!
