Event Description

You can't go wrong with a day of Trail Run & Mud Obstacle Course Race, Craft Beer, Music and Food. The 5K run will take place on trails, open fields, thru mud and water.  During the run you will encounter various obstacle challenges and pass thru TWO mud obstacle courses.  This will be the first time we have ever used both mud courses during a race and we also added a few new challenges along the course, so be prepared for some butt kick!

One thing that hasn't changes is the MEGASLIDE (It looks tall from the ground but looks like a mountain as you start to go down it). Its been told that grown men whimper on this obstacle-ha.

This is a chip-timed race but don't worry, it's not overly competitive, it's more about the fun! If you can't run a 5K don't worry, 50% of participants walk the race. For those who are into OCR, awards given for above/below 30, male/female.

Cross the finish line and be greeted with cold water or cold beer (if you're 21). Head to our awesome washdown station and then make your way to the HUB and enjoy live music, two food trucks, and craft beer.  What's better after a race than chillin' in the sun listening to music and having a cold beer?

What's better is you just finished a Trail/Mud Run on the same day SOAC is having a Music Festival.  You get to stick around for the Music Festival for FREE!!

This is gonna be fun.  Come Alive Outside!!

Follow Southeast Outdoor Adventure Center on Facebook to watch this come together into an awesome event!

What to wear?   Sports apparel is helpful but anything comfortable is fine, but nothing too loose because it can get caught on obstacles. Closed toe shoes mandatory, no bare feet, no exceptions, this is for your safety.

What not to wear?  No rings, necklaces, earrings, or any other bling because it will fall off and be gone forever. If you lose anything in the mud/water you must wait until after race to retrieve, SOAC does not assist with the retrieving.  If you find any lost items please turn in at HUB area. Don't wear your favorite shoes because they are going to get nasty.

What to bring with you? A change of clothes and shoes, towel to dry off once you have washed down, driver's license for ID check if you plan on drinking alcohol (parking area is close, so you don't have to carry your ID on mud run), cash or credit card if you want to buy food/beverage/misc.

Some obstacles will have apx 4' water depth, no swim is necessary but if uncomfortable around water please go around obstacles, remember this all for fun.

We do not suggest carrying your phone because you will be totally wet before you cross the finish line.  If you drop your phone in mud it's almost impossible to find!

Lockers:  We do have lockers available. We do not provide locks, you must bring your own lock.

Bag Drop:  We will have a truck near start line that can carry your bag to the finish line area (near wash down area).  If your bag is black please personalize it so it stands out so you can find it easily.  SOAC staff member will be in/around bag drop area but we consider this an unsupervised honor system bag pick up.

We have a Music Festival going on the same day as the Trail/Mud Run so your race entry fee allows free access to the music festival.  Non-race participants are considered Music Festival attendees and will be charged $15 at the gate to enter. Kids under 12 get in free to Music Festival with paying adult.  Anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
