Event Description
Lauren C. Michel (Walker) was born on June 8th, 1984, raised in Bellbrook, Ohio and graduated from Bellbrook High School in 2002. Lauren’s motto was “Live Small…Do Much”. Her passion in life was to help others. She worked hard to fulfill this passion by studying long hours and working at a daycare center all while raising her two young daughters, Alexa and Sienna . She graduated from Wright State University with a degree in nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse on the Heart and Vascular 6 Unit at Miami Valley Hospital. She lost her life tragically, due to domestic violence by her estranged husband, at the young age of 32 on July 3rd, 2016. She continued to help others even after her passing as she was an organ donor and gave the gift of life to at least 7 people. Lauren was also a tissue and cornea donor and was also able to give the gift of sight to 2 people as well as countless others with the tissue donations. Lauren’s 5K race will raise money for Nursing Education for future nurses to continue her passion of helping others.

5K Run/Walk: $20 Register in May, $25 Register in June, $30 Register Day of Race
You will need to register by Friday May 29th in order to guarantee a shirt
Kids Fun Run: FREE (Ages 12 and under)
5K Race/Walk: A course through Miami Valley Hospital South campus. A wonderful community event to bring the whole family to! The course is stroller friendly. Sorry, no pets can participate in the race.
T-Shirts: 5k Participants will receive a free T-shirt. Indicate your shirt size during registration. You will need to register by Friday May 29th in order to guarantee a shirt
Kids Fun Run: There will be a Kids Fun Run at 8:30am for children 12 and under. We recommend the 5k for children 12 and up. Parents are welcome to walk along the course with their child.
5K Race Prizes: Top 3 male and Top 3 female runners will receive a medal
Raffles: Each registration receives a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of the several raffle prizes. Must be present to win.
Registration Packet & T-Shirt Pickup: Early packet pick up is Friday June 12th 5pm - 7pm in front of the Cancer Center in the parking lot at Miami Valley Hospital - South Campus.
Race Registration
Run/Walk in Remembrance of Lauren Michel's passion for nursing. All money raised will be gifted to domestic violence shelters in the Dayton area and to the Miami Valley Hospital Foundation (MVHF) in support of scholarships for nursing education.
