RACE
In recognition of World Autism Awareness Month, The Chase Academy, a non-profit school for children with Autism located in South Daytona FL, is asking the businesses and residents of Volusia County to become a Super Hero by participating in our C.A.P.E. Crusaders' 2nd Annual 5K Beach Run & Walk. Proceeds will benefit our C.A.P.E. Crusaders monthly donor program which facilitates The Chase Academy's Programs for Enrichment (C.A.P.E.). This program provides the funding required to enhance the learning experience for our students beyond the academics that are covered by tuition, both inside & outside of the classroom, through technology (Smartboards in classrooms, Ipads for elementary learning), cultural activities (ballet, music & theatrical performances, museum exhibits) & other enrichment activities (weekly music therapy, school garden, outdoor playground and Life Skills classes such as cooking) at no additional cost to our students' families.

Runners receive an Event T-Shirt, Cape & Mask
Runners who do not register by 3/15 are not guaranteed a T-shirt.

Saturday morning's timeline:
8:00 - Registration
9:00 - Run Starts
9:30 - Optional Pancake Breakfast at Pallet Pub following the event!

Packet pick up will be on Friday before race day at Front Running Sports in Lake Mary from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
 
TEE SHIRTS
Shirts are guaranteed for all pre-registered participants. Shirts not guaranteed on race day.

TIMING & SCORING  
Race will be timed and scored with a disposable chip provided, which will be attached to the bib.
 
QUICK FACTS  

How long is the course?              
The 5K is 3.1 miles.
 
How will I be timed?  
The race uses an electronic timing system that records race time and place via a  transponder chip, that will be given out at registration. Each individual competing in the 5K is required to use the race chip. Official times will not be recorded without a chip. There will be a clock at the finish line to view your time.

How will I receive my results?
Official results are posted for the top runners in each category, race staff has all results for on-site inquiries and results are posted on the race website.      
 
Who gets a T-shirt?
Only pre-registered runners that successfully complete the registration and payment processes before race day are guaranteed a free race t-shirt. 
   
Can I participate in the event with my dog?  
Sorry, as much as we love our pets too, the safety of participants is our main concern. Therefore, we do not allow pets on the course, but service dogs are allowed.
 
Can I participate with a stroller? 
Yes, nurturing future generations of runners is a priority and demonstrating healthy lifestyles to our kids is special. Please, however, start in the later part of the runners.  
 
Should I bring my own water? 
Yes, but there will also be 1 water station are available on the course. 

I will be out of town on race day and not able to participate. Can I get my money returned?
We appreciate your race registration.  We are not in a position to credit your credit card or issue checks. 
 
Will the race be held if it's raining? 
The race is a "rain or shine" event. All participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, such as in a rain coat or hat. Umbrellas can pose a safety hazard to others, so please do not bring them.  
 
Can I transfer my entry to someone else?
We have a strict NO REFUND & TRANSFER policy.
