Event Description

In 2018, there were 1,836 suicides in the state of Ohio; Trumbull County ranks ninth highest in the state
for number of suicide deaths. To help put this in perspective, Mahoning County, home of Help Network
with a multitude of suicide awareness and prevention programs, ranks 45 th . We need to bring more
suicide prevention and postvention programs to our county. We need to work together. To do this and
to allow those who have been bereaved by suicide as well as those considering or fighting suicidal
ideations see that there is an entire community of organizations, businesses and individuals fighting
with them, we must unite. This year, The Trevent Fund will hold our first annual Strike Out Suicide
Community Walk on Saturday, August 9, 2020 at Eastwood Field in Niles, Ohio. We expect around
500 walkers, and our total fundraising goal is $5,000.00 for this first year, but I encourage you to help us
surpass this by sharing the sponsorship opportunities with like-minded colleagues.
