West Georgia Technical College Foundation in partnership with West Georgia Technical College (WGTC)'s School of Nursing is proud to present Heroes for Hope 5K in support of the Frances Biggs Hope for Tomorrow Scholarship. Heroes for Hope 5K will be held Saturday, April 25th at the Hobbs Farm Greenbelt course in Carrollton, Georgia. Registration will begin at 7:00 A.M. and the race will begin at 8:00 A.M.

The Frances Biggs Hope for Tomorrow Nursing Scholarship was established to honor the legacy of WGTC student Frances Biggs who passed away in 2018. Frances was a bright light that warmed everyone who knew her. She had recently completed her Certified Nursing Aid (CNA) program and was passionate about caring for those entrusted her care. Frances worked diligently to pursue her certification and worked two jobs, including one at her beloved Carrollton Nursing and Rehab Center. In memory of France's hardworking and giving nature, the CNA program at WGTC and WGTC Foundation have established a scholarship in her name, the Frances Biggs Hope for Tomorrow Nursing Scholarship. The purpose of this scholarship is to alleviate educational costs and remove personal financial bariers from a student's life as they pursue a career in nursing. We are hosting the inaugural Heroes for Hope 5K to raise additonal scholarship funding. The event is superhero themed as Frances loved superheros, especially Captain America! We'll ask runners to don their best superhero attire and even have a special prize for the best costume.

Event details and schedule

5k will be held on the Carrollton Greenbelt-Hobbs Farm. This is a Peachtree Qualifier race course. The location is 1147 Rome Street, Carrollton, GA. Registration will be behind Grace Covenant Church and starts at 7 AM. Race will begin at 8 AM.
