Event Description

The Corona virus has turned the world upside down. Mass event cancellations, school closings, work from home, runs on the grocery store, the list goes on. The question that is on everyone’s mind is “what can we do?”. What can we do to get through these times safely and sanely? What can we do to help?

Horizon Racing organizes running events. We seek to create a meaningful experience for our runners and make them a little healthier along the way. We also use our business as a way to give back - many of our events raise money for local charities and nonprofits. Our business is dedicated to organizing the exact type of events that must now be discontinued in the interest of public health. In light of this, we’ve designed a challenge to keep you active, engaged in the community, and support a great cause!

Introducing the Cabin Fever Achiever Challenge!

Each week for 8 weeks, we’ll send out a new run challenge. You’ll have 1 week to complete the challenge. Once complete, send us GPS / Garmin / Strava / photo evidence of you completing the challenge.

Every registered runner will get a shirt. Some weekly challenges will include a bonus prize, courtesy of our sponsors. Each week we’ll also pick our favorite social media post (Facebook or Instagram) using #CabinFeverAchiever for an additional prize.

Cost: $40 for 8 weeks (First Challenge sent on 4/5 at 8:00 AM)

What you get

  • Weekly Challenge email sent via email. Check those spam filters!
  • Horizon Run Challenge shirt (mailed at the end of the challenge).

  • Chance to win weekly prizes from sponsors (mailed at the end of the challenge)
  • Periodic bonus content from fitness and running professionals
  • Finishers medal for those that complete at least 4 challenges (4 or more = Bronze, 6 or more = Silver, 8 = Gold)

Proceeds:

A portion of each registration will offset operating costs (shirts, prizes, shipping etc.). 100% of the remainder will be donated to Back On My Feet Atlanta. Back on My Feet combats homelessness through the power of running, community support and essential employment and housing resources. Back On My Feet’s ability to provide this support is directly related to their fundraising efforts. In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, many events that raise funds for Back On My Feet have been cancelled or postponed. Now more than ever, they need our support. Q: Where do the proceeds go?

A: A portion of proceeds offset operating costs (shirts, shipping etc.). 100% of the remainder will be donated to Back On My Feet Atlanta

Q: Why is the registration $40? That seems a little high.

A: We plan to make this challenge worth your while. We also want to provide the most meaningful benefit to Back On My Feet Atlanta. This comes out to $5 per week. If $40 is too steep for you, no problem! We hope you’ll keep on running, and maybe consider a small donation to Back On My Feet (click HERE)

Q: How hard are the challenges?

A: We want to make this fun for as many runners as possible. Challenges will be manageable for most runners. If there is a challenge that is too difficult, email challenge@runhorizon.com and we’ll send you an alternative!

Q: Do I have to run the challenges, or can I walk?

A: Challenges can be completed running or walking.
