Event Description

Simple Does Not Equal Easy

Join Columbus Running Company virtually at 0600 EDT on Saturday, October 24, 2020, for the Find Your Limit Virtual Mile Challenge and find out what you're made of. This isn't your standard running event, not at all. Similar in concept to events like Big's Backyard Ultra, the Last Man Standing Ultra, and the Yeti Ultra 24 Hour Challenge, we're taking a thing (running one mile) that seems pretty simple and making it progressively more difficult (doing it every 15 minutes).

The Find Your Limit Virtual Mile Challenge is a "last person standing*" event designed to stretch your mental and physical limits. The premise is this: every 15 minutes we start a new one-mile "race". If you've completed the prior "race" in under 15 minutes, you get to continue. The challenge continues with repeated 15-minute-limit races until there is only one runner remaining. The final runner must be at their start line and complete the final "race" to be the Find Your Limit Virtual Mile Challenge Champion. How far can you go before your mind or body says "STOP"?

When does the event end? This event runs from 0600 EDT until 2100 EDT. If you're in a different time zone, you still start when we start. Plan accordingly! All event times and pre-race meeting times are listed EDT! If you've got tons of endurance, your final repeat will begin at 2100 EDT (that's 9p, folks). If you're a mortal like most of us, your event will end when you can't/don't make the start of the next mile repeat or decide you've had enough.

Full event rules are on our "Everything You Need to Know" page. They're simple, but they are required. Read them, know them, live them on race day.

* The goal is to run this until the last person is standing, but we are limiting this event to 15-hours (plus one mile). If there are multiple participants remaining after the final 9 PM EDT mile, the male and female winners will be determined by who completed their collective miles the fastest. Y'know what... read all the stuff on the site. We have lots of words explaining the rules!
