Event Description

Run or Ride or Relay Across Dine' Bikeyah, following an epic route, but as a virtual race.

Run Across Dine’ Bikeyah would be the 350 mile journey over 76 days as a virtual stage race.  Runners may choose the competitive Race or noncompetitive Run event or get a group of your friends together (virtually) and complete the run as a Relay.

Ride Across Dine’ Bikeyah would be the same distance, but in 10 days, August 6-15, as a virtual bike race.  This will average out to be about 35 miles a day on bike.

For the Run:  The stages will look like the following, with result standings after the completion of each stage:

(1.)  LCR to Antelope - 70 miles/12 days (5.8); June 1-12

(2.)  Antelope to Rainbow Bridge - 50 miles/10 days (5.0); June 16-25

(3.)  Rainbow Bridge to MV - 45 miles/9 days (5.0);  June 28-July 06

(4.)  MV to 4 Corners – 60 miles/12 days (5.0); July 9-July 20

(5.)  4 Corners to Shiprock Pinnacle – 45 miles/8 days (5.6); July 23-30

(6.)  Shiprock Pinnacle to Asaayi – 80 miles/14 days (5.7); August 2-15

This is roughly 350 miles over 76 days.

Run:  This is a noncompetitive event where each participant will track their own miles and time, and submit a total time for each stage, stating on the honor system that the met the required miles within the correct time frame.  Participants of this event will not be in the running for awards, but they will all receive a shirt, bib, and finisher medal for their completion of the event.

Race:  This event is a competitive stage race.  Each participant will be emailed a form where they can log each of their runs, (date, time, and distance).  Standings for each stage will be compiled on the total time to reach the full distance of the stage.  Awards will be given at the end all stages.

Relay:  Compete in this event as a team of 2-5 people.  Each team will be emailed a link to where their members can log their runs (person, date, time, and distance).  Standings for each stage will be compiled on the total time to reach the full distance of the stage.  Awards will be given at the end all stages.

Ride:  The bike event will cover the same distance (350 miles), but unlike the run, this will just  happen over 10 days.  There will be no stage or standings published, as the bike race will happen over a shorter period of time.  Each participant will be emailed a form where they can log each of their rides, (date, time, and distance).  Results will be compiled at the end of the 10 day race.
