Event Description

On June 1st 2019, Christopher Pennington passed away from a drug overdose. According to the CDC, an average of 150 Americans die every day from drug overdose. 150 too many lives lost every day to this epidemic. While Chris was in recovery, it was his goal to raise awareness and help as many people struggling with addiction as possible. Even in death, Chris has helped save the lives of 3 people through The Gift of Life organ donation. In his honor, his family wants to fulfill his dream of helping those battling addiction, by raising awareness with a Crispy5k on the anniversary of his passing. All to often, children are affected by the aftermath of drug overdose. In addition to the 5k, we have a 1k available for children to participate to raise awareness as well.This event is free; however, we are accepting donation that will be given to the Gift of Life and Dawn Farms Spera Center.
