Event Description

One cannot say they've experienced all the best things in life until they've basked in the solitude of the desert. And what better way to do that, than to run Zion at night!

Back by popular demand - The Zion at Night Sall Group Half Marathon. Runners will sign up to run their half marathon during a specific time slot. Each time slot is limited to 50 runners. Beginning at 6 PM on Friday, September 18, 2020, a new group will start every half hour until 8 AM the next morning.

You will receive a bib and a race shirt before the race. This event will be timed, but due to the nature of the race being spread out over a full day, we will not have an official awards ceremony. We will verify, then mail out the age group awards after the event.

Why at night?
There are a few reasons. First, running the event through the night will ensure we're not sharing the trail with the daytime traffic of bikers and hikers. Second, the temperature in southern Utah in the fall is often still very high. Believe me, a Zion race in September will be much more enjoyable at night than during the day. Third, this is going to be a really unique and rewarding experience. Zion at night is something special.

The Course
This course is challenging but is not exclusive to experienced runners. But keep in mind, this is a trail race, and you'll be running in the dark, so don your headlamp and get ready to run under the new moon in Zion!
