Event Description

Are your spring and summer races cancelled? Stuck at home? No problem. You can run or walk a 5k anytime, anywhere and help to benefit Beaverton's vulnerable families. Better yet, your race items will be mailed/dropped off directly to you!

**NOTE: This is a "virtual run/walk". There is NO meeting place - participants choose the date, time & route of their choice and are encouraged to document their participation on social media with the hashtag #starsstripesandshelter .

The Stars, Stripes & Shelter 5K gives you the opportunity to meet your fitness goals while supporting efforts to keep Beaverton folks in their homes. Planting Seeds Community of Beaverton helps to support marginalized youth in the Beaverton School District, and funds raised from this race will go to support the Family Emergency Fund! While families are avoiding eviction currently, we know that this pandemic has affected the livelihoods of families everywhere. This fund will help families avoid eviction and put together security deposits. After all, everyone deserves to have a safe and secure place to call home.

Our friends at Family Promise of Beaverton support vulnerable families throughout our city with connections to social services and a safe place to stay. With this fund, they will be able to support folks while keeping them in their homes.

Every registration for the Stars, Stripes & Shelter Virtual 5K gives an entry to win a Family Game Night from our friends at Play.Fit.Fun!
