Event Description
I will include very little info on here. Please see our website, there we take the time to dig through this unique event.
Our races involve people running against each other head to head - virtually. Competitors will connect through instagram, and go live for their race. Each runner must also make sure to use GPS/Strava to verify the distance run.
You are signing up for a total of three races. July 4th, 11th and the 25th.
GENERAL STRUCTURE
- Eight people per bracket. Head to head races. Winners race winners. Losers race losers. You will race every Saturday morning for a month, at either, 8:00, 8:30, 9:00, 9:30 or 10:00am Pacific time. You will be told in advance. They will be only one winner, per gender.
MILE RUN-OFF INFO
- We will run as many brackets of eight as possible. Brackets will be filled from most competitive to less competitive. Within each bracket, runners will be seeded 1-8, based off a combination of seed time/personal best. Winners move on, losers head to the consolation bracket. You will race each Saturday for a month.
- Team Division: It takes four members to count as a club. Your four mile times will be combined. Winners will be listed in the records books and have bragging rights for an entire month.
MYSTERY MEDLEY INFO
- Mystery Medley: Co-ed (Names drawn from a bowl will determine initial match-ups, a spin of the wheel will determine the distance for the match-up. Distances will change from week to week. Each bracket will be co-ed. We will use IAAF scoring tables to determine equality between genders. This is also a Road Race. Winners move on, losers head to the consolation bracket. You will race each Saturday for a month.
Ex: According to the IAAF scoring tables, a 4:30.09 for a male is worth 737 points, which is equal to a time of 5:28.48 for a female.
