Event Description

Second Sole Racing presents the Freedom 4-Miler taking place on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at the Canfield Fairgrounds.  Covid-19 has created a challenging season for road races - causing months of cancellations.  With recent guidelines released by the State of Ohio for non-contact sports, Second Sole Racing is now able to host this come-back event. 

Temporarily taking the place of cancelled Fourth of July races throughout Mahoning Valley, the Freedom 4-Miler will utilize the vast open spaces of the Canfield Fairgrounds on a course that wraps throughout the entire site.

Participants will race past well-known spots on the fairgrounds from the Rock at the Grandstand to the historic Western Reserve Village and the area often seen by fairgoers as parking and RV camp grounds.  The course utilizes both paved and well-kept gravel roads.  

Due to safety regulations, the race will take place in multiple heats throughout the morning starting at 6:00am with the last heat at 10:00am.  Full details can be found on the FAQ page by clicking HERE.

Second Sole Racing has the support of both the Mahoning County Health Department and the Canfield Fairgrounds who have approved the event. 

A portion of the proceeds will be donated towards the Canfield Fair Capital Campaign which is currently working on improving Junior Fair facilities.
