Event Description

Until March 2020, Owen was a typical (and totally awesome) five year old.  He loved kindergarten, ninjas, his scooter and Legos.  As a proud brother, he taught his little sister the importance of support walls with forts and helped calm his littler brother by hand holding and singing lullabies.

After some unusual behavior, like falling downstairs and walking into walls, a MRI showed a tumor in his brain stem and cerebellum, which was confirmed to be DIPG – a very rare (only 300 diagnoses a year in the United States and Europe) and aggressive brain cancer.  The jab of a pediatric cancer diagnosis is severe.  The upper cut of a zero-survival rate is an absolute knock out.

A zero-survival rate is beyond devastating and truly unimaginable.  DIPG patients and their families deserve and need so much more.  Stronger research.  Greater understanding.  Increased funding.  More hope.

Join us in our fight. Run with us.

All proceeds will go to The ChadTough Foundation, whose mission is to inspire and fund game-changing research to discover effective treatments for pediatric brain cancer, with an emphasis on Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).

Did you know?

  • Cancer is the number one disease killer of children in America.
  • Brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer-related death in children.
  • DIPG is responsible for 15% of ALL pediatric cancer deaths each year.
  • ONLY roughly 4% of the taxpayer-funded National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) annual budget is directed toward pediatric cancer (not brain cancer but ALL pediatric cancer).
