Event Description
This race is to celebrate the late Nelson Mandela Birthday. Proceeds from this race will go to the Sole Sergeants Charity to help the needy receive serviceable shoes in the U.S.A. This is an 10K road race and it is to educate others of how Mandela retained some involvement in international affairs after his retirement and prior to his death. He returned the U.S. on several occasions to speack to different organizations on the need for economic assistance in Africa. He maintained an great relationships with President George W. Bush and the Clintons. Before his death, he met President Obama.

Due to COVID 19, This race is open to only 30 runners in person. This limited amount of runners will give us the opportunity to spread out and social distance. Dilbert Sports (branded DS Running Club for sponsorship reasons) is hosting this 10K run held virtually and in Junction City Kansas. This race allows amateur and professional runners to register for an chance to win a Ca$h reward for the first Female and Male finisher.
This race is to celebrate the birthday of the late great civil activist, Nelson Mandela.
Participants can participate in the 1K walk or 10K run.
1K Participants registration - $10
10K Participants registration - $20
10K first Male & Female finisher will receive $30.
10K top age groups for Male & Female finisher will receive a prize.
• NO Team Attendance trophy for the group with the largest number of registered participants
• Finisher medals for everyone that crosses the finish line
• Race day registration will include an additional $10 administration fee.
The first 15 race participants that register before July 11th will be guaranteed the chance to buy a short-sleeve race shirt with their paid registration*. After this date, shirts and sizes are not guaranteed.
All race participants will receive a special finisher medal at the finish line.
NO REFUNDS due to non participation. If this race is canceled due to COVID-19, partial refunds or exchanges will be issued.
Runners who decides to run in the virtual race will receive their Bib and Finisher Medal by mail.
