OUR ANNUAL FUNDRAISING IS GOING VIRTUAL THIS YEAR!
We hope you join us in our virtual run / walk /roll to raise money for Spina Bifida Wisconsin. We have a drawing for great prizes, t-shirt sale, and a new SBWIS magnet give-away! Your participation can include social media sharing, fundraising, inviting others to join you in person or virtually, meeting other SBWIS families in your area and more! Registration is required to be included in future event announcements and emails. Have fun and we hope you enjoy the new format!
Our members with spina bifida have S.P.I.R.I.T - STRONG, PROUD, INDEPENDENT, RESILIENT, IMPORTANT AND TERRIFIC!
It is important during these difficult times to pull together, support each other and unite to support a cause we all believe in. Spina Bifida Wisconsin believes in changing the lives of Wisconsin families impacted by the birth defect, Spina Bifida. We need your help, we believe in your SPIRIT! The current pandemic situation has been difficult in many ways. Spina Bifida Wisconsin has felt the pandemic's impact of a decreased number of donations, cancelled social and fund raising events, our staff's reduced working hours and decline in interactions with our members. We strive to be a fiscally responsible organization that you trust and wish to support. Our fund raising goal is $8,500.00 and we know we can achieve it with your help! Click HERE for FAQs

How to participate on our virtual SPIRIT event:
The event can take place anywhere you choose...on a track, on the roads, your neighborhood, a park, on a treadmill, or anywhere else you can walk, run or roll! Decide on your distance (we suggest one mile), plan your route, and leading up to our event emails will be sent with more information. You can complete your walk, run or roll anytime. We ask that you submit your results, photos and videos between 8am and 12pm on August 8th. You can also join our Closing Ceremony via zoom!

Register one person in your family - yes, just one of you needs to register. You will be asked how many people total will be participating so we can count our supporters, but not everyone needs to complete the registration.

During registration we collect your email address. Only people who are registered will receive direct communication from us as the event approaches. We will not be posting or emailing information through our regular systems. Directly receiving information is a benefit of registering. If you don't want to have to forward that information to others, ask them to register too!
- Decide if you want a chance to win one of our 8 (could be more) fabulous prizes. Prizes are gift cards, small gift boxes and coupons from generous area businesses. We will send updated lists as prizes are added. FYI: it is illegal in Wisconsin to sell raffle tickets on line, your registration fee of $25.00 allows us to include your name when drawing a winner for each prize (you don't get to pick which prizes your name goes in, because that is a raffle).
- Don't forget to purchase your t-shirt(s)! Shirt sales will be open until Sept 27th so encourage others to purchase one too! You'll have it in time for October's Spina Bifida Awareness month and there is room for you to customize your message.

Plan the route you will walk, run or wheel. It can be any distance in your local park or neighborhood.

Consider inviting others to join you as you walk, run or wheel. During registration we will ask if you want to be connected with other registered participants in your area so you have the opportunity to meet up if you wish.

You can share our event information with others in Wisconsin, across the country or around the globe! That's the beauty of a virtual event. Let's see who joins!

Become a fundraiser and ask others to donate or create your own personalized fundraising team. We need your help in reaching our event goal of $8,500.00! Online donations will close on September 27th (same day shirt sale ends).

Participate in our fundraising challenges! The team to raise the most money by noon on Aug 7th will receive one entry into each prize drawing (a $25 value) and the team to raise the most by noon on Sept 26th will receive 3 SPIRIT t-shirts (a $60 value)!

Read your emails as Aug 8th approaches for information about how to share your photos and videos with us.

Complete your walk, run or wheel any time. You will receive download / printable certificates to include in the photos you share.

At 11am on Aug 8th we will draw one winner for each prize on Facebook LIVE and contact the winners. Prizes will be mailed after Aug 10th.

Everyone registered will receive an invitation to join our virtual CLOSING CEREMONY, which will be held via zoom at 11:30am on Saturday, Aug 8th.
