Event Description

Join us on Saturday, August 29th at Uncle Johns Cider Mill for the It's a Ruff Run 5k! This race will feature an open/flexible start line from 9am to 11am, finishers medals and age group awards! Leashed dogs are very welcome to attend and participate in the event. 

How does the open/flexible start line work? Start the race any time between 9 am and 11 am. There will be no crowded mass start. Keep an eye on the start line and begin your race when it is free of other participants. No more than 5 people will start at a time.  The start line will be wide, and the space is very open to allow for proper social distancing. You do not have to feel rushed to get to the starting line. Start your race when you are ready. Timing does not start until you cross the timing mats.

Entry Fee: $15 to 8/24, $20 from 8/25 to 8/28, and $25 race day. 18 and under $5 to 8/25, $10 after 8/24

Bring the Family!: Register 2 Adults and Child for $35. Bring the dog (their free!)

Course: The 5k course is on the grounds of Uncle Johns Cider Mill. Runners and walkers and dogs are welcome! We will provide bottled water at the finish of the race. There will be no fluid stations on the course. Bring your own water for the course.

Results: Your accurate chip time and current overall and age group place will be texted to your phone and live on this site.  Please remember your overall and age group place will not be final until the last person has crossed the finish line at approximately 12:00 pm.

Awards: Finishers medal to all participants. The top 5 finishers in each age group will receive a glass of cider and a donut (available until November 1st at Uncle John's Cider Mill) Age Groups: 10 & under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

Safe Race Procedures:  The packet pickup/check-in area will be spaced out to allow ample room for social distancing. All race volunteers will be wearing a mask. We encourage participants to wear a mask when picking up their packet. No crowded mass start. Packet-pickup will begin at 8am.

Finish line: Once you have finished the race you will receive a finishers medal, please grab a bottle of water.

Race Cause: All donations and part of the race proceeds will go to IRONDOG, a charity that raises money for animals whose owners cannot afford their medical care.
