Event Description
Join us for the FIRST EVER Caring for a Cure Virtual Run/Walk happening between November 6 - 8. This will mark the 9th consecutive year we've organized a fundraising run/walk for the organization. In 2019, in our 8th year, we raised just over $35,000 from this event!
Although this year we are pivoting to a virtual edition, we very much encourage you to participate in one of the distance options over the course of the weekend as the success of our organization is dependent on these annual fundraising initiatives. We've set a goal of $40K this year and your participation will bring us one step closer to reaching that goal.
Details: You’ll register just the same as you would any other event! You can register individually, create a team, make a donation, and submit your results. Going virtual, allows a lot more flexibility, allowing you to complete your race anytime and anywhere between Friday, November 6th, and Sunday, November 8th.
Categories: Racing options will include the following distances: 5K, 10K, 1 mile or the CFAC Challenge!! Complete whichever distance you want, whenever you want. The CFAC Challenge is to complete all 3 distances over the course of the weekend.
Fees & Donations: It’s FREE to register!
We're encouraging you to setup a fundraiser or make a minimum $50 donation to earn a special edition Caring for a Cure Virtual event shirt. (If you don’t wish to setup an individual or team fundraiser or make an additional donation, just simply continue through the registration & leave $0.00 in the widget and click continue.)
With your registration you'll be able to: Download & print your customized race bib & finisher certificate and track your race results through the scoring platform.
Race Course: This is your event!! Pick your favorite loop, out and back, lollipop, point to point, trail or even a treadmill to complete your selected distance.
Swag: We will coordinate pick up, drop off, and or shipping for those afar. If you want to wear your shirt on race day you must register by October 23rd. Registrants on/after 10/24 will either have to make arrangements to pick up shirts or wait till they are delivered post-event.

If you are running the 5K please be sure to hit at least 3.1 miles, no more then 3.3 for scoring.
If you are running the 10K please be sure to hit at least 6.2 miles, no more then 6.4 for scoring.
If you are running the 1 mile please be sure to hit at least 1.0 mile, no more then 1.2 for scoring.
This data can be tracked with your phone or other GPS data capturing system and must be submitted by 11:59PM on November 8, 2020 to be included in race results.
Race Results: You must submit your results by 11:59PM on November 8th.
More about CFAC: Caring For A Cure was founded in 2011 by the nurses of the Adult Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant program at Mass General with a goal to improve the journey of patients and families with cancer through research, resources, and awareness. Since we began, we have raised over $1,000,000!
The funds raised have been directed to things both big and small – from flying in a bone marrow donor from halfway around the world, to sending caregivers out to dinner, to impromptu celebrations of anniversaries and birthdays unexpectedly spent in the hospital, to making sure new leukemia patients have real tissues.
