Event Description
Join Dr. Robert Evans and host Teresa Holloman for the 2nd Annual Winston-Salem Walk for an IC Cure! Gather with your family, friends, healthcare providers, and support group members for a day of IC/BPS awareness and an empowering experience for people living with IC/BPS!
Take the steps to:
- Raise funds to advance IC/BPS research, education, and advocacy
- Promote IC/BPS awareness in local communities
- Create communities of support for IC/BPS patients and families
Interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) is recurring pelvic pain, pressure, or discomfort in the bladder and pelvic region, often associated with urinary frequency (needing to go often) and urgency (feeling a strong need to go). IC/BPS can affect anyone, with more than 12 million people in the US experiencing symptoms.

Registration fee for the in-person event is $20 (includes t-shirt). Children under 16 are free (t-shirt not included).
Awards will be given to the top fundraiser, the team leader with most registered members, and the team with the most creative name!
Anyone who fundraises $500 or more will receive a Walk for an IC Cure hoodie.
The event will consist of:
- Remarks from Dr. Robert Evans, Wake Forest Baptist Health Urology and member of the ICA’s Medical Advisory Board.
- One mile walk through Bailey Park.
- Stay for a meet-n-greet with healthcare providers, fellow IC/BPS patients, and caregivers following the Walk.
- Raffle
Register for the in-person event by Friday, August 26th to be guaranteed to receive a Walk for an IC Cure t-shirt, an #ICAwareness bracelet, and Mardi Gras beads.
As of today, in-person Walks are still planned with additional measures to ensure participant’s safety. If stay-at-home orders require the Walk to become fully virtual, all Walk participants will be automatically converted to virtual participants.
