Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15, 2020 – October 15, 2020 by Running La Vida Loca 5k Virtual Walk/Run! We would have preferred to have held it live with other people as we all know WE MISS PEOPLE! Stay healthy, stay familia, and most importantly stay safe anywhere you choose to run. Or walk. Or however you choose to Run La Vida Loca!
The race takes place wherever you would like to run or walk, in the comfort of your own home on a treadmill or outside. Please follow your local COVID-19 guidelines. How a Virtual Race works: Run or walk 3.1 miles (5k) anytime between September 15th – October 15th. Get the whole family involved! Let us know when you have completed the run and receive the absolutely stunning shirt and medal. Tell your friends and family and run together socially distancing of course. The medal is unlike one you have seen before and the glitter added to it will make you proud to display on social media!
As is the custom with Cafecito Caliente we would like to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month kicking it off with a 5k Run. In the United States we recognize the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States beginning September 15th. Cafecito Caliente has been hosting events since 2010 and we look forward to Running La Vida Loca!
For each Cafecito event, we choose an Organization to help support. For this event, we chose the Michigan State University College Assistance Migrant Program (MSU CAMP) which is celebrating 20 years in 2020! Hit the "Donate" button and 100% of all donations will go to MSU CAMP! Also Cafecito will be donating most of the profits to MSU CAMP.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Education and initiated in 2000, the MSU CAMP Program is an educational program that offers individuals with migrant or seasonal farm work backgrounds, a unique opportunity to begin an undergraduate program at MSU. This program assists these students with academic, social, and financial support to enable them to complete their first year of college. A portion of the proceeds will go towards this program.
