Event Description

About the Event:

The Humane Animal Treatment Society presents "Racin' for Rescues" a virtual weekend run/walk challenge! All proceeds benefit your local animal shelter, which helps over 1,000 animals every year, adopts out over 500 animals, and spays/neuters over 2,000 for those with low-income in the mid-michigan area. Participants can run or walk throughout the weekend of September 25, 26, and 27 (we recommend a goal of 10 miles for the weekend!) around the neighborhood from anywhere around the world, on the treadmill, on one of Mount Pleasant's beautiful nature trails, or anywhere else you can find! Each Racin' for Rescue registration will include an event T-shirt for participating. Register by September 14 to guarantee an event t-shirt.

This virtual run will help the thousands of homeless pets in our community still receive care. In 2020 the shelter has seen a $50,000 drop in public donations, so we need as much support from our community as we can in order to continue helping the animals who need us most. Please spread the word, and let's get to racing for our rescue!

Feel free to take pictures while exercising for the weekend and use the hashtag #hatsracinforrescues to be featured on our social media!
