The inaugural run for Freedom Running Company was BEAT THE HEAT 2017! Each year after, Beat The Heat was held! This year will be a little different, but we wanted to offer a VIRTUAL option to all those that wanted to run, receive a medal, top finisher awards and a face covering as an extra giveaway!  4th annual BTH - VIRTUAL 2020 Race - The cool thing about this is you can run a 5K, 10K OR even a half marathon. There will be a place to enter your results on the run sign up page. You can run this race anywhere, anytime and chose your distance from the three given. Submit your results online! Medals, T shirts and face coverings will be mailed in September! 

As each race benefits something, this race will benefit someone in the Papillion area. His name is Paul Sidwell. He is the guy that makes everyone smile and is always there to give a lending hand. He’s a longtime Papio guy who graduated from Monarchs in 1988. He is a loving father and so many know him as an amazing soccer player and coach. On June 3rd, Paul went in for a routine upper GI and a large mass was found in his esophagus. He was diagnosed with stage 2 esophageal cancer. He has been undergoing radiation and chemotherapy which will be followed by an intense surgery to remove the mass. Proceeds will help in his costs as he fights this virus. Please know that registration for this race is also helping Paul along the way!
