We invite you to join us for the second annual Silken Twine Charity’s in-person/virtual run and walk event, “Sophie’s Steps 2021.”

Sophie’s Steps 2021 will be held at Lukens Park in Horsham, PA on September 26th from 8 am to 1 pm.  If you can’t join us in person, go for a walk or run, any time of day, be it around your home or in your neighborhood. Take some pictures and share them on the race website; even share your distances and times if you like as a screenshot (we recommend an app like Strava or Map My Run). Sophie’s Steps is a non-competitive event to show your support for children battling pediatric cancers and their families.

About Us 
Silken Twine is a non-profit foundation committed to helping pediatric cancer patients and their families.  Silken Twine has financially supported over 50 families with various non-medical expenses such as groceries and transportation. Additionally, Silken Twine distributes a $1000 college scholarship to two accomplished and brave young cancer survivors each year. 

“Sophie’s Steps” is named after our beloved Sophie Malaviya, who passed away in 2017 after a ten-year battle with pediatric cancer. On September 25th, just two days before the race, Sophie would have celebrated her 25th birthday. In her honor, Sophie’s family and friends founded Silken Twine to carry out her lifelong vision of assisting those in need.

Silken Twine believes that the foremost concern of the families of pediatric cancer patients should be to help their loved ones recover. All ticket proceeds will allow us to continue making this mission a reality and support even more families during this difficult time.
