Event Description

The Dirty Du will be the first competitive off-road duathlon race at McKenzie Ranch and will be fast and smooth. McKenzie Ranch Trails Park is a 1,700-acre natural open space park located on the far east side of Pima County and north of Marsh Station Road. Riders will complete both the North Loop and South Loop on the McKenzie Ranch competitive race course. (If you plan to go practice before the event, please ride clockwise and pay attention when merging back onto the North Loop. It is the responsibility of all non-bike riders in all directions and riders traveling the opposite direction to yield to those riding clockwise.) Photos of the course can be found on TrailForks.

The course is safe for the first timer yet challenging enough for the experienced. 

Individual and Relay options. 

The Duathlon Distances

Run 1 - 2 mile trail out-and-back (south loop)

Ride - 9.5 mile mountain bike course (north and south loops)

Run 2 - 4.5 mile trail loop (south loop)

The Trail Run Distance

9.5. Miles - follows the duathlon bike course (USAT membership NOT required).

What Do You Get

All participants will receive a Dirty Du trucker hat and custom wood finisher's medal.

Chocolate milk and empanadas at the finish line.

USA Triathlon Sanctioned

Duathlon Participants must have an annual USAT membership or buy a 1-day license ($15). 

Awards

Duathlon Awards will be by gender in five-year age groups: 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, and so forth.

Trail Run Awards will be 1st-3rd Place Male and Female.
