Event Description
In memory of our friend and colleague Dan Anderson, Sam’s Club is hosting “Heroes of Hope” a virtual walking challenge kicking off September 23rd, on what would have been Dan’s 46th birthday. From September 23-October 22, Sam’s Club encourages all associates to honor Dan and his courageous battle with cancer by participating in this month-long virtual walking challenge in partnership with the American Cancer Society. Dan lived near St. Louis but was a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Teams representing each of the 600 Sam’s Club locations are charged with traversing the 587 miles from St. Louis to Heinz Field virtually alongside a team fundraising goal of $587. Funds raised will go toward the fight against cancer.

DISTANCE:
Each team is goaled at traveling 587 miles virtually from St. Louis to Pittsburgh.
INCENTIVES:
All participants who raise $30 will receive a commemorative t-shirt.

HOW TO TRACK YOUR MILES : BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 23 - OCTOBER 22
Participants will track their mileage throughout the month long period. You can track your mileage manually or by using one of the many GPS-enabled tracking systems via file upload.
1. Click on Track Your Miles
2. Click Submit Your Results
3. Look up your registration by name or email
4. Click Log Activities
5. Input data & submit!
Miles can be logged daily, retroactively for prior days and multiple days at a time.
