Event Description
Join us on the Stroke Comeback Trail!
Raise stroke awareness and support survivors in their comeback journey.
This is a virtual event beginning on World Stroke Day. Pick a time between Thursday, October 29 and Sunday, November 1, 2020 to complete a route of your own choice. Participants can choose a 5K Run, Walk or Roll, or the 1-mile Survivor Challenge. Once you’ve finished your route, simply log into the run registration website, record your results, and celebrate your accomplishment!
Proceeds will benefit the Stroke Comeback Center and our community of stroke and brain trauma survivors committed to living successful and productive lives. We are a non-profit organization that offers support along the slow road to better. Our members, professionals, volunteers, and families know that recovery continues forever. Thanks to generous donor support, no stroke survivor is ever turned away for inability to pay.
Registration:
- 5K Run/Walk/Roll: $35
- 1-Mile Survivor Challenge: $35
- Youth Run/Walk/Roll (either distance, ages 5-17): $15
Online registration closes Thursday, October 29 at midnight. All participants will receive an electronic race bib to print at home and race materials ("swag"). First 100 participants will also receive a race-branded drawstring backpack. Race materials may be picked up at Packet Pickup prior to the race, or can be mailed for a small fee. Must register by October 22, 2020 to ensure your race swag.
Race Route: Choose a route that works for you. Use a route planning app like Map My Run, your GPS, or your car odometer to plan your route.
Form a Team: We accomplish more when we work together! Invite your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to join you on the Stroke Comeback Trail. Near or far, everyone is welcome to participate in this virtual event. Win a prize for the biggest team!

Prizes: Virtual events are all about fun, community, and raising awareness. We celebrate everyone who rises to this challenge. Prizes will be awarded for:
- Biggest team,
- Most individual fundraising dollars,
- Randomly selected from photos posted to social media.

Packet Pick-up: Race swag and materials can be picked up in Vienna (Foster's Grille - Vienna, 138-A West Maple Avenue) or Rockville (location TBD) on Tuesday, October 27 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., or can be mailed for a small fee (US only). Must register by October 22, 2020 to ensure your race swag.
