Meghan Sorbera joined the Hilbert College women's cross country team her first fall on campus in 2007.

She loved autumn and everything it had to offer -- cool and crisp temperatures and the changing colors on the trails which made running fun. Meghan also loved the excitement of October Halloween celebrations where she could spend time with her friends and family.

Early in her sophomore year, Meghan's life was tragically cut short.  She and a group of friends were walking back to campus after working a late-night shift at the 2008 'Fright World Halloween' attraction hosted at the Hamburg Fairgrounds.

As a way to honor Meghan and her love for running, the Hilbert cross country program hosts its annual 'Meghan Memorial" race during the month of October.
