Event Description
The Maskeraid Relief Run/Walk is a virtual fundraising race that welcomes runners, walkers, and wheelchair users to support their community!
The Maskeraid Relief Run/Walk is hosted by MDMaskeraid to raise funds for grassroots masking in the DMV. Funds raised from this race will be used to further the efforts of providing free, reusable, hand-sewn masks to hospitals in the DC metropolitan area. The proceeds made will go toward materials, sterilization, and transport of masks!
Here’s how you can get involved!
Run competitively!
- Sign up for a day of your choosing and be sure to check your local social distancing guidelines
- Run a 5k or 3.1 miles on your chosen day and track your time with your preferred running app (FitBit, Strava, etc.)
- Send us your time via email, text, or online at https://runsignup.com/Profile anytime before the last day of the run
- Send a screenshot of your run to mdmaskeraid@gmail.com
- Post a selfie on Instagram or Facebook and tag @MDMaskeraid and use the hashtag #MaskeraidReliefRun
Take it at your own pace!
- Sign up for a day of your choosing and be sure to check your local social distancing guidelines.
- Run, walk, or wheel until you’ve logged 5 kilometers, 3.1 miles, or 3,500 steps on your preferred fitness app, FitBit, Apple Watch, or home machine!
- After finishing, go to https://runsignup.com/Profile and click “Submit Virtual Results.”
- Hit the checkbox beside “I finished but did not time my run”
- Post a selfie on Instagram or Facebook and tag @MDMaskeraid and use the hashtag #MaskeraidReliefRun!
